Pamela Somervell, MD, ABFM, ABPM
Medical Director
Dr. Somervell graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2006 and completed her Family Medicine residency at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Following residency, she practiced as a primary care physician at a Federally Qualified Health Center in rural Southwest Virginia, where she became increasingly aware of the impact of substance use disorders on her patient population.
In 2014, Dr. Somervell began providing buprenorphine treatment to patients with opioid use disorders through the DEA-X waiver program. She later served as Medical Director of a methadone clinic and became board certified in Addiction Medicine in 2017.
Throughout her career, Dr. Somervell has treated individuals with substance use disorders across a variety of outpatient settings, including private practices, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Community Services Boards, and Opioid Treatment Programs. In recent years, she has focused primarily on supervising inpatient addiction treatment and currently serves as Medical Director for three residential substance use treatment facilities, including two adult programs and one adolescent program.
